Week 8: Chapters 16 & 17

In Chapters 16 & 17, Aiden's got his hands full trying to potty-train Stormy, cleaning up his accidents and taking him for countless walks, but it's a nice distraction from quarantine boredom. When his concerns about the COVID crisis and the unknown get to be too much for him, though, Aiden has a panic attack and it takes mom, his Happy List and some slow, deep breathing to regain his peace.

The NBC Library Staff would like to invite students and teachers to join the Clements Quaran-Teen Club by viewing each webcast and then sharing their comments, reviews, thoughts, reactions, and illustrations to the newest chapters.   You can post your comment(s) below.  To prevent inappropriate messages and spam, you must include your First Initial, Last Name, & Grade Level along with your comment in order for it to be approved and published to the page.

Here are a few questions to consider from this week's webcast.  Feel free to include any additional comments or raise any additional questions that arose during the webcast.
  • What grade (A-F) would you give Chapters 14 & 15?  Why?
  • Who is your go-to person when you feel nervous, afraid, or worried?
  • Have you used this time off to do an activity that you have always wanted to, but just didn't have the time to before?
  • Set the scene:  What does Aiden's new dog look like?  How do Aiden and the family react when Abuela comes to visit? Help to illustrate Aiden's story.
If you would like to submit your illustration(s) from this week's chapters to be featured on the Clements Quaran-Teen Club page, e-mail them to Ms. Gilliam or Mrs. Bailey.  You can also submit your illustrations(s) to the Junior Library Guild team via Instagram @JrLibraryGuild or e-mail at jlgwebcast@gmail.com. Some pics might just make it on the next national webcast!
